High Yellow Spotted Armadillidium gestroi isopods, originate from France near shores with limestone, sandstone, and granite
Like common roly polys, these isopods roll up into a ball when disturbed or threatened. They look very similar to Armadillidium vulgare, but are distinguished by their bright yellow spots.

Our Isopods are fed a mix of organic vegetables and mushrooms twice weekly in addition to our own supplemental food. They are kept on coconut coir substrate with moist sphagnum moss to help maintain humidity, provided cuttlebone for calcium, and cork hides for enrichment.

Priority mail or Express shipping must be selected at checkout for live orders. Live Arrival Guarantee is VOID for orders placed using First Class Mail. All live animals are shipped Monday-Wednesday. Orders placed on or after Wednesday at noon will ship the following Monday to avoid spending the weekend at the post office or on a truck. Someone must be present to accept package delivery.
Hot and cold packs are included as necessary free of charge. If temperatures drop below 45*F or exceed 103*F we may need to wait to ship until safer temperatures resume.
