A popular color morph of the scaber family, in this unique variation only the female of this isopod species exhibits the deep red and black speckled sex-linked pattering, while the males remain grey in color. This variation is extremely similar to the standard calico scaber, but instead of orange, they have been bred to show bright and rich hues of red. As such, they are one of the easiest isopod species to sex by far! Great for educational purposes!
